Lowlander 80/-
Every now and then we get the urge to plunder the riches of traditional Scottish beer-making in search of liquid gold. Obviously this traditional Scottish export ale is more copper than gold but you get the idea.
Lowlander is a tribute to this hallowed beer style and unsurprisingly, it’s the malts that take centre stage with layers and layers of complexity... toasty, sticky dried fruit and luscious caramel are all intertwined with just a gentle hop resin coming through in the background.

Reviews
Lowlander from Tempest is how an Export Ale should be done. Thick and creamy and extra dreamy. Pow! (Bearded Beer Blog, UNTAPPD)
Great reinventing of the 80 (MF Beatnik, UNTAPPD)
Sticky dates and caramel with tinges of slightly over-baked biscuits. Faint tinges of pine and a little woody hop spice with a soft boozy warmth that wasn’t expected in a 4.4% ABV brew.(Carl, UNTAPPD)
Really nice malty beer (Peter, UNTAPPD)
Great dark beer with depth (Karl, UNTAPPD)
